3/19/2020 Press Conference on COVID-19 Updates
/On March 19th, Governor Baker held a press conference covering activating the National Guard, COVID-19 testing, RMV, and small businesses.

National Guard
On March 19th, Governor Baker activated the National Guard to support the Commonwealth’s response to COVID-19. The Governor’s order activates up to 2,000 National Guard members who will be supporting the State’s response as well as keeping residents safe during this time. COVID-19 Testing
Governor Baker announced that starting next week, 3,500 COVID-19 tests will be conducted per day between state and pharmaceutical labs. Currently, there are 20,000 tests done per day nationwide while Massachusetts does about 2,000 to 3,000 tests per day. State labs are operating on a 24/7 schedule and turning over test results in about three to four days; they are working to bring that time down.
RMV
Effective on March 19th, there will be eight RMV locations open. These locations will be prioritizing transactions that need to take place in-person. Road tests are suspended through March 20th. Small Businesses

The MA Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission has extended the credit terms for establishments with on-premise consumption licenses. The extension terms are for all invoices that were issued after January 18th by 30 days.
